Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Silt Labs Inc. ("Narc," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use Narc: Screen Time Controls, our website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website, mobile application, and support channels.
Last revised: April 13, 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and limited information collected automatically to operate and improve the Service.
A. Information You Provide
- Account details such as email address, sign-in provider, and display name.
- Court and social-accountability data, including Court setup, invites, member lists, unlock requests, and related activity you choose to create.
- Support messages you send us.
- Subscription and entitlement information, such as whether you have an active subscription. Payments are processed by Apple, and we do not receive your full payment card details.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device and app metadata, such as device model, operating system, app version, language, and time zone.
- Diagnostic data, such as crash reports, performance metrics, and error logs.
- Usage and event data, such as session timestamps, feature usage, and app interaction events.
- Service state data needed to operate Narc features, such as lock state, schedules, request status, and related configuration.
C. Contacts and Invite Data
If you choose to invite people from your contacts, Narc may request access to your contacts on your device.
We use contacts access only so you can browse your contacts and choose who you want to invite. We do not automatically upload your full address book to our servers.
If you choose to send an invite, we transmit only the selected phone number or phone numbers needed to create and deliver that invite. Those selected phone numbers may be sent to our servers and our messaging provider so the invite can be delivered and duplicate invites can be prevented.
D. Screen Time and Blocking Data
If you grant Narc access to Apple Screen Time or Family Controls permissions, Narc may process the app, website, and category selections you choose to manage, along with related lock, schedule, request, and usage-report information needed to operate blocking features and show progress inside the app.
Some of this information is processed on device through Apple system frameworks and app extensions. We may also store related settings, status, and derived product data in our backend when needed to support sync, Courts, requests, reports, and account features.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve Narc;
- create and manage accounts;
- support Court, invite, request, and blocking features;
- deliver invites and prevent duplicate invite sends;
- provide customer support and respond to questions;
- diagnose issues, measure performance, and improve the Service;
- detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
- with service providers that help us operate the Service, such as hosting, infrastructure, authentication, analytics, subscription, and messaging providers;
- with other users when the product requires it, such as Court membership, requests, or invites you initiate;
- when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; and
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
4. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You can decide whether to grant certain permissions, including contacts and Screen Time permissions. You can also revoke those permissions later in iOS Settings.
If you do not grant contacts access, you can still use Narc without importing contacts. If you revoke Screen Time or Family Controls permissions, some blocking features may no longer function as intended.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.
7. Children's Privacy
Narc is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may include links or integrations with third-party services, including Apple, sign-in providers, analytics tools, subscription infrastructure, and messaging providers. Those third parties have their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version here.
